    Chelyabinsk city was found in 1736 and now it is one of the biggest cities of Russia. The population of Chelyabinsk city is more than 1 million 180 thousand people. It is located in the center of Eurasia on the eastern slope of the Ural Mountains 200 km to the south of Ekaterinburg and 1,900 km to the east of Moscow. Chelyabinsk is one of the most comfortable cities of Russia, is in the top 15 the cities as per standard of living. City takes sixth place in the ranking of life quality in large cities of Russia, the second place in highest quality of education, the third - as the road sector, the tenth - for quality of service and housing. Chelyabinsk ranks first place in the affordability of housing in Russia and in terms of urban infrastructure.

    Chelyabinsk is a major industrial center that contains enterprises of metallurgy, mechanical engineering, metalworking, instrument, pipe, chemical, light and food industries. Chelyabinsk is one of the largest producers of high quality alloy, heat-resistant and stainless steels, long and flat rolled products in Russia. It produces 43% of Russian ferroalloys, more than 60% of Russian zinc production, the fifth in the pipe production of our country (almost all large diameter), high-quality railroad rails, heavy crawler tractors, crawler cranes, construction machinery, wheel loaders, pipe layers, dump trucks, heavy truck, unique metals, fittings.

    Chelyabinsk is a business, academic, cultural and sports center of the South Ural. There are several universities in the city, the largest of which is the "South Ural State University" (National Research University). SUSU is not only the largest university in the region, but it is one of the largest universities in Russia. There are over 50,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students and 27 faculties and institutes, 10 branches. There are more than 150 bachelor programs, 100 master programs realized by university. SUSU alumni work as engineers and technical workers in the fields of: engineering; electricity and heat; control in technical systems; materials technology; physical and engineering science and technology; chemical technologies; computer and information science, and others.
